Fall 2011 Courses

Rug Hooking
Doris Norman, Rug Hooker
Tuesday 6-9 pm
This course will include the hooking of primitive flowers, leaves,
borders and backgrounds, discussion of Maritime history, and
an introduction to dyeing, use of texture and recycled wool.
Students can bring their own material or purchase from Doris by

Doris Norman Bio

Doris is a skilled artisan and instructor who teaches rug-hooking courses and workshops across the United States and Canada. She is an accredited Nova Scotia and Pearl McGown teacher, specializing in Celtic Art, William Morris, Jacobean, Pictorial, Stained Glass, Primitive Fruit and Shading. Her work has been featured in Canadian Living Magazine, Rug Hooking Magazine and is included in the Beaverbrook Art Gallery’s Permanent collection as well as many private collections. Doris has taught at Nova Scotia schools for many years as well as the Prairie Harvest school, Newfoundland and Labrador school, Hooked in the Mountains, and Friends by the Sea in Oregon.
