RUG HOOKING

July 27 – 31, 2009

Doris Norman

This is a rug-hooking course for those with any level of experience, including beginners. During the week, you will learn how to dye wool using tea, coffee, onionskins, rhubarb leaves, kool-aid and turmeric. In addition, you will be shown finishing techniques, as well as how to hook in the traditional manner of our grandmothers. Wool and a small design, depicting land and sea, will be available for purchase or students may bring a design or pattern with wool to class. This course includes a boat trip into Passamaquoddy Bay to gather inspiration.
